I've never used Twitter before so bear with me. It's not hard, I'm not an old man or something even though I sound like one, I'm just not a big fan of social media. I still share shit like videos by showing it to people in person or via Skype/Whatsapp, instead of posting it on my Facebook page. ANYWAY TWITTER YAY GO FOLLOW ME BYE.
I still have the .ai files for all my works except for maybe one or two, so bear in mind that there's the off chance I can't upscale it to 4K.
Don't worry though, it shouldn't be a problem 95~99% of the time.
A friend of mine is coming over later today to check it out. I'm somewhat tech-savvy, but I'm no IT guy. That's why my buddy is coming over, because he is.
Anyway, I probably won't be uploading anything until next week. Sorry 'bruh'.
Turns out one of my RAM modules is kaput, so that's not too bad. PC works again, though at half the RAM. Taking this opportunity to upgrade to 16gb.
Tokyo was amazing. I want to see more of the country, but that'll have to wait. Some day...
Even though I'm suffering a little bit from post-vacation blues, it does feel good to be back. Also I kinda was in the middle of making walls for Monster Musume, so I've been wanting to finish that.
After that, I'll do some requests.
Back to work!
I'll be gone until the end of the month so don't expect any uploads from me or anything.
Remember when I reached 2k watchers I said I'd list a few peeps who also do minimalist art as a way of saying thank you to all my watchers and also because I think these guys deserve more watchers?
Yeah, I didn't forget. Maybe I did. Kinda. Look, I forget shit all the time. Usually because I don't pay attention to anything. My attention span is practically non-existant. But hey, I re-remembered! That's not a word.
What was I talking about again? Oh yeah, the list.
Here's it is! In no perticular order:
There are probably more 'minimalists' out there. If I find any, I'll add them to this list. I've probably missed a couple too.
I have some other cool ideas I'd like to do. I might do that in the Minimalist group instead of here on my personal journal. Or I could do both, I should be able to copy-paste that...
Anyway, that's the list. I don't know how to close this journal so you'll have to do with this shitty, unprofessional rambling of mine. Because at least I'm good at doing that. I probably should make a Twitter or Facebook account for doing just that. That'd be a good use for this 'skill' I have. Would you guys follow that? Maybe I'd get more followers. Hmm...
3 years and a bit.
2. What does your username mean?
It's an old online handle from my MMO days that kinda stuck.
3. Describe yourself in three words.
I do whatever.
4. Are you left or right handed?
5. What was your first deviation?
6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
Vector art (obviously).
7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I'd love to be able to draw digital art using a tablet.
8. What was your first favourite?
9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
I favourite a lot of stuff but I really like colourful stuff. I haven't really though of it but now that I look at my favourites, a lot of it has colourful stuff and it instantly grabs my attention, which I have very little of. Makes sense, I guess.
Oh and girls. A lot of my favourites have girls in them. I'm a simple man. I like boobs and butts.
10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I hate these kinds of questions where you can give only one answer. Shit I don't know, man. I like a lot of things and all for different reasons. The only way I can answe that question is if I give an arbitrary answer which changes every time you ask me. But fine, if you want one: I guess gashigashi, I like his art style a lot.
11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I like a lot of artists on this site, but I have no real desire to meet them. I don't know them. But I guess it would be cool to meet some of my fellow minimalists.
12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
I guess that has to be Oldhat104, my Mega Man collaboration with him really pushed me to do more minimalist art.
13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
Mouse and keyboard, though I'm practicing drawing with a tablet. (Or trying to, if I can get the tablet to work...)
14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Behind the computer. I mean, It's digital art. Where else would I create art? My options are pretty limited.
15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Uploading my Eeveelutions wallpaper, going to bed, then wake up to 300+ favourites. And this was back when I just started, I didn't even have that many watchers. Then I did a second one because I thought I could make a better one and that one got 500+ in just a few hours. Blew my fucking mind. It really made me realize that people like this art style.
Say what now?
Thank you guys so much for following me. I really appreciate it and I'm glad you enjoy my work.
As a thank you, I had two things in mind: One was to do an AMA. If you guys are interested, let me know. I guess Reddit would be the place to do that but I could also make a journal entry for it here if you guys think that's a better idea. I'm leaning towards Reddit though, although I never really used the site.
The second thing I have in mind is to make a list of other 'minimalists' that deserve more watchers because some of them are really good and have only a fraction of the followers I have, even though I think some of them are just as good as I am, if not better. They're definitely more productive, haha...
Most of them post their stuff in TheMinimalists, go check them out!
Again, cheers guys. Keep watching for more stuff in the future.
But I'm back now, so you can expect to see more works from me.
Again, sorry for not telling you guys!
Since I've been doing requests, I get a lot of people people requesting stuff from me. People are messaging me everywhere; On my page, in one of my folders, on my deviations, a couple people send me notes; It's... a mess. It's hard to track all of that and since I like to reply to those people once I've done a request they made and link them to the deviation, I never answer them. It feels like I'm ignoring them and I don't like that. Also, it's making a downright mess of my inbox. I've got 49 message stacks now consisting of about 140 messages; Most of those are requests, like 80~90%. It's chaos.
So I decided that I make a folder for just requests. People can post their requests there, I can respond to them and keep track of everything so much better. Plus, I can see how many requests I've done.
So if you have a request, please post it in the 'Requests' folder. If you post a request anywhere else, I'll delete it. This also includes all the current requests.
I'm very sorry about this, but things are just a mess now.
On a side note, I have a little update. I've been working on making a tutorial. Other people have already done a good job of making tutorial that covers the basics, so I wanted to do something else. I'm going to focus on some of the tools I use in Illustrator and I'll provide a .ai file for those who have Adobe Illustrator so they can follow along!
I haven't figured out the specifics, but the groundwork is there. I just need a few more screenshots and a lot of time to have make my instructions more concise and clear, because I tend to make my explanations way too convoluted. So look forward to that!
Again: Please post your requests in the 'Requests' folder. Thank you.</u>
When did that happen? And how? I'm just some asshat who makes vector traces of game/anime characters, give it a minimalist style (because it's easy), and post them online as wallpapers. I appreciate it, though. Some people might say something cliché right now like 'I couldn't have done it without you guys', but that would be way overexaggerating. That's not what I do, it feels pretentious to me. Blatant honesty is my style. That said, I probably would've made less stuff or quit doing this altogether if nobody followed me. You certainly motivated me to make more stuff. So thank you. It might not be obvious because of the minimalistic style of my work, but I've improved a lot. I've learned how to be more efficient with my initial setup, use of the pen tool and learned how to use other/new tools to work more efficiently and accurately.
I'm thinking of making a tutorial, plenty of people have asked me what program(s) I use, how I make my works, etc. Thought it would be a good way to show you my thanks. Then again, I'm shit at explaining things, so I'm not sure if that's what I'll do, or how I'll do it. Maybe I'll ask for some help or do something different. Something is coming, I can promise you that much.
I'd like to share some links to other people on DeviantArt who make the same kind of stuff I do. Some of them have been here as long as I have or just started out. Some have made more stuff than I have and don't even have as much followers as I do and that's not fair. If you like my stuff you'll like theirs, so check them out. They deserve as much watchers as I do.
I'll add some more people later.
Again, thank you. More stuff coming at your face soon.
A number of people have made requests and I haven't responded to those messages yet. I do that on purpose, so I have a list of requests without having to write them all down (I suck at management, sue me) and when I'm done I can reply to them with a link to the image.
So if you've made a request and you're waiting for a response, don't worry. It's coming. Or I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do it. That's also a possibility.
Well that's about it, I think. I have a few requests queued up, so look forward to that!
That said, I have something in the works that might get uploaded tomorrow or even today, so look forward to that!
This doesn't mean I'll be taking a break, I just have less time to work on wallpapers. I'll try to make more journal entries, let you guys know how everything is going.
PS: I also sell shirts and hoodies, I don't think many people know this, check it out! www.redbubble.com/people/krukm…
